Bit Balance

Bit Balance is an original 6x6 binary logic puzzle where every completed row and column must contain three 0s and three 1s, avoid three equal consecutive bits, and remain unique. Free Play generates a continuing sequence of verified Easy or Standard puzzles, while Daily provides one player-local calendar puzzle. Public-rule-only conflict feedback, explanatory non-mutating Nudge assistance, bounded Undo, replay-safe progress, and mouse, touch, and keyboard controls keep play direct without a hidden wrong-cell oracle.

How to play

Fill each open cell with 0 or 1. Every completed row and column must contain the same number of 0s and 1s, no row or column may contain three identical bits in a row, and no two completed rows or columns may be identical. Free Play offers public 6x6 puzzles and Daily gives one Standard 6x6 puzzle for the local calendar day.

Tips for this game

  • Use pairs such as 00_ or 11_ and sandwiches such as 0_0 or 1_1: the empty cell is forced to the opposite bit.
  • When a row or column already has half of one bit, every remaining empty cell in that line must be the other bit.
  • Nudge explains one supported deduction without placing the bit for you, so you can still make the move yourself.

Common questions

Are 8x8 boards or Hard mode part of the public game?

No. The current public game is 6x6. Free Play exposes Easy and Standard, and Daily uses Standard; Hard and 8x8 remain internal calibration content.

Can two completed rows be identical?

No. Completed rows must be unique, and completed columns must also be unique.

Does Nudge fill a cell automatically?

No. Nudge identifies an explainable forced move and its reason, but the board remains unchanged until you place the bit.
